Fabric beads

These beads are made from fabric, cotton muslin, painted with lumiere colors, then stamped, heat set
and rolled onto a straw with a bit of glue. Finally wrapped wire and beads. A quick and fun project.

Lotus

This is an experiment I wanted to make with chalk on acrylics... I made the background collage with newspapers and acrylic colors and then wanted to draw a lotus flower or waterlilly...
my chalks turned out to be too soft and so I went on to use acrylics. Finally added some stamped embellishments to the edges. Actually I wanted to do pastel - but you know how things emerge......
Collaged and painted on canvas board.

Haven´t shown anything for quite a while. Had to get thru September before I reduced working hours.
Now I feel halfway well rested again.
Finally made some time to play digitally....thanks to the generous members of the CM.

We met at a friend´s home for a long weekend which included going to the Stempelmekka, the biggest German stamp convention in Hagen. We had so much fun stamping and chatting. My favorite collage techniques are all sorts of transfers of which I was glad to show some.

My first try at copying the fauvism style. The background is taken from one of the CM - challenges -
the lady must be a popular painting but I don´t remember who did it. I´ve used her in several paper collages and still like her. I used a lot of filters and have been painting with the mouse...
This was fun since I felt I hadn´t to be so precise as usual in digital work - lol - what is difficult with the mouse anyway. Most challenging was to give a final unified look to the image... I don´t really know if I succeded in this...

Digital inspired paper quilt

This digital tile was the result of doing a bit of photoshop playing with filters and such. I ransferred it to canvas board. I liked the colors so much that I decided to imitate the look of the tile for a paperquilt swap I´m in. I finished the digital quilt with some rubberstamp images. Colors are fluid chalks.

To substitute the wheel in the centre which was the result of a caleidoscope filter I chose the negative image of a dried orange slice I had pressed into penscore. The tiles turned out quite different because I inked the penscore differently so the edge of the slice printed darker or not at all. Since the grunge style turns up in a lot of works I tried some circles with the edges of a glass. Ink is again fluid chalks.
This was a fun and quick project.

My contribution for this weeks´ theme of the Wednesdaystampers.

The background is oilpastels, I stamped with fluid chalks and a bit of brilliance white. The vertical text reads "Listen to the flowers´ tunes, the whispering of the leaves, the fresh life of a new day. "
This is inkjet transfer with soft matte medium.

This one took me a while...mainly because I´m in the midst of reorganizing my art-room.
It´s canvas-board covered with some fancy papers. The rest developped over the last two weeks.

Once in a while I like to come back to this fun technique. Whenever you feel blocked.... just glue down what you like and cut it into pieces afterwards.... card I made for a swap. The bottle caps filled with embossing powder and covered with with Fantasy Film. Stamped ornament was added on top. The edge is wiped with some translucent gold acrylics.

For another swap round I made these pins... I don´t remember where I saw them .... it was in a stamping magazine.. I just had to try them. Since I worked with dye inks I put on a layer of clear embossing powder. The first time I tried some beads on wire.... practising the eye-loop. LOL.
Working small is a challenge.
